Greetings from North Dakota. I stumbled across your web page in search of
Edward Shinn, "Justices of the Peace" in New Jersey. I'd like to add some possible
missing information in regards to the Francis Sheene/Shinn family of 1525, Freckenham,
Suffolk, England. As Josiah's work was done in 1903, we know he didn't have access
to our present day information, LOL. In today's day and age of computers and such it's
now possible to gather information with a stroke of a few keys. From information I found
on genuki.com the records that the LDS website uses are the Bishops Transcripts. These
leave a few unanswered questions, and appear to be incomplete. As we know Francis
lived in Freckenham Parish and was born sometime between 1520 or 1525 in that Parish.
Now here is where there is missing information. Four years ago, I found an individual who
I think lives in the area of Freckenham Parish (which still exists, it's about 3 miles South
SouthWest of Mildenhall). He was kind enough to transcribe the Church records in
Freckenham Parish (they are not Bishop transcripts). And from what I gather are written
in Olde English. The register begins in 1550. From what he sent me Francis had 9 children.

(note: 4 years ago the LDS web page didn't have this information, that I know of, or
at least I was unable to find all of the children listed under one entry on the LDS site. As
for Josiah's book he only lists three of the 9 children.)
There is one name that stands out to me at least on the Freckenham Register that name is
"EMME Sheene was buried ye three & twentieth day of August 1586." (as it was sent to me).
I believe this to be the given name of Francis' wife as this in the only entry for her in the
Freckenham Register. And is only the 2nd burial date listed on the Register. The first burial
is that of Agnes Sheene her daughter.

John SHEENE widd and Marie Sparkes widd were married 3 Oct 1621
Marie SHEENE wife of John SHEENE was buried ye xvth day of August (year not given,
but the next entry gives the year of 1630). So I believe Marie died 1624/29.
